New Video from TR Manufacturing: One-Stop Contract Manufacturing for Plastic and Metal Parts
TR Manufacturing is a one-stop contract manufacturer for projects that combine plastic injection moulded and aluminium die cast components. A new video has been released showing how such a project runs — from casting and moulding through CNC machining, finishing and inspection.
Video — Project showcase (1:52)
The film follows a complete job from casting through CNC machining to finished parts, including inspection and packing. It is the reference to watch if you want to judge how tolerances are held across processes.
What "one-stop" actually changes for you
Putting the aluminium die cast part with one supplier and the plastic part that fits onto it with another is common practice. It usually comes with the same set of headaches: tolerances that do not line up, differences in colour or finish between batches, separate tooling schedules, and two delivery dates that never quite converge.
The underlying problem is simple — nobody owns the interface between the two parts. As a one-stop contractor, TR Manufacturing does. In practice this means:
One organisation accountable. One quotation, one contact, and one party responsible if something does not fit — instead of two vendors pointing at each other.
Fit verified before tooling. The metal insert and the mating plastic housing are reviewed together, so wall thickness, draft angles and tolerances are compatible before any steel is cut. Less rework, fewer tool modifications.
Consistent finishing and inspection. Deburring, surface treatment and inspection criteria are specified once and applied across both materials, so the two components look like parts of the same product.
One delivery schedule. Production is planned so metal and plastic components arrive together, rather than one sitting in your warehouse waiting for the other.
Where the cost advantage comes from
Consolidating both materials with one contractor removes the expenses that sit between two suppliers: duplicated quality checks, separate shipment consolidation, rework caused by mismatched tolerances, and the engineering hours spent coordinating two vendors. It also means one tool modification round instead of two when fit adjustments are needed.
Capabilities
Plastic injection moulding
Aluminium and zinc die casting
CNC milling and turning
Deburring, finishing and full inspection
All four processes are managed by TR Manufacturing. Customers deal with one team whether the job involves a single process or all four.
Typical parts produced
Housings and enclosures, brackets and mounts, heat sinks and finned aluminium parts, structural covers, and combination parts where a machined aluminium insert is fitted to a plastic body. Both prototype quantities and series production runs are supported.
Engineering support before you commit tooling
Send a drawing or a 3D file and the engineering team will return a manufacturability review: where wall thickness may cause sink, where draft needs adjusting, whether a boss should be cored, and which tolerances are realistic for the process requested. There is no charge for this review, and it often reduces tooling cost.
TR Manufacturing has been supplying precision plastic and metal components for 13 years, serving customers mainly in Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland and other markets across Europe and North America.
